A hearse
drives up the street
with four black cars
following behind.

Across the square
a dozen children
play their game
screaming and shouting
unaware

a black and white ball
darts about their feet
one boy stumbles
a younger boy moves in
and the ball keeps moving

Life keeps moving...
I was walking to the Boston Public Library in Brighton this morning (the 23 of March, 2016). As I turned the corner onto Academy Hill Road, I saw a hearse driving south on Chestnut Hill Ave across Brighton Common. Four black SUV's were following close behind it.

On the common itself, a bunch of school children, (probably from the nearby Shaloh House Jewish Day School, judging by their yarmulkes) playing a game of soccer (or football for all the international folk). As I watched, one of the boys stumbled, but a smaller boy moved in to take over. The ball never stopped moving.

I like that image.

Even though death seemed so permanent there is life that keep going. It's both inspiring and a little disturbing at the same time.
